I sincerely hope that those who are out there are able to receive help as soon as possible. For many, it seems that there isn't enough help to go around. My second thought was that maybe politics would be put on hold, differences would be set aside and everyone would pitch in to get those people the heck outta there before more tragedies occur.

I'm tellin' ya, being dead wrong sucks.

I mean, despite this, you still have your morons pointing fingers, exploiting criminals as victims and then not even lift a finger to help. Now, from my stand point, I see many liberals pointing at Bush. From what I know, his mutant power isn't controlling the weather. Unless you're going to tell me he was discharged from the X-men for disorderly conduct. Now, you have A LOT of people say, "If they were white, they would have sent help faster."

Oh, shut the hell up. You "Life is a chess game, kill whitey" people are really starting to get on my LAST nerve. I saw some guy (I didn't care to get his name since he came of like a bloomin' moron) on the Bill O' Riley show a couple nights ago trying to explain how racist the disaster situation was. The thing is, if you're gonna say that the government is racist, then prove it. I mean HARD evidence. Like a video tape with Bush saying, "New Orleans? That nigger town, right? Let 'em drown for a couple days!"

That brings me to what Jade said in the previous post. Kanyae West, was an okay guy until he blurted out "Bush doesn't care about black people" at the WRONG FUGGIN' TIME. Now, in my book, he's no better than 50 Cent (garbage). He's still okay to me as a rapper, but as a person, I just can't respect him anymore.

Okay, back on track!

Okay, looters. Now here's the dealy-o. Not all looters are bad. Some did indeed steal to get the items they needed to survive (food, medicine, etc.). Now, a 32-inch Plasma TV isn't exactly a part of your balanced breakfast. Now, from the articles I've read, there were ARMED looters going around, stealing from people's homes and businesses that were yet to be under water.

Imagine you live in New Orleans and your house is still on land for the time being. You go back home to save whatever you can take without to find strangers telling you to get out of your own house all while waving guns in your face. Not a pretty picture, is it?

"They're getting back at society." My house isn't society. My store isn't society. What the hell does my property have to do with YOUR problem with society? Hell, most problems a lot of those people have with society is that they don't get free rides. Not all of them, though. Of course, the ones with LEGITIMATE reasons against society usually don't go on larceny rampages during TIMES OF CRISIS.

So I hear a lot of people complaining about how bad a job everyone's doing with the rescue....yet offer no help. If you're gonna complain, DO SOMETHING! Get up and donate to disaster funds, or even go there yourself and see what you can do to help. These people are doing the best they can and from what I've seen, they're short handed. If you've got time to blame people, you've got time to at least donate to a disaster fund.

Listen, folks. It's time to cut the racism and the "Bush is evil" b.s. It doesn't matter. People are dying and you're spending your time trying to bash Bush and other people who are actually DOWN THERE. I know someone's gonna try to be a wise ass and say "I donated and this is all Bush's fault , yada, yada, yada." Either way, that ISN'T the point. Spend a little less time bashing and a little more time helping. You'll have plenty of time for your finger pointing bull after we get through this crisis.

Next time on X-men, George, codename 'Dubbya', quits the team to become a politician.

Hurricane Katrina Curry

My heart goes out to all of the victims of Katrina, especially the children. Some family members of my grandfather and members of my boyfriend's family were hit by this massive disaster. A lot of Katrina's victims have lost their livelihood as they know it, the place they called home and for both adults and children, family, friends and their lives. But as I sit here and continue to look at the news unfolding about and around the Hurricane Katrina aftermath, thoughts just keep coming up...

"Mandatory" Evaculation: man·da·to·ry (adj.) - Required or commanded by authority; obligatory, Of, having the nature of, or containing a mandate, Holding a League of Nations mandate over a territory. Why would you tell your people that the evacuation is "mandatory" and then follow up with, "but you don't have to if you don't want to..."? THAT IS NOT MANDATORY. Now after the hurricane they get the term.

"Refugee": ref·u·gee (n.) - One who flees in search of refuge, as in times of war, political oppression, or religious persecution. Not properly used to describe the people of New Orleans. I like Michael King's term... survivors.

Who is to blame: Who is to blame? Is it Nagin for not getting his people out with that ample transportation sitting in the parking lot? Is it Blanco for being wishy washy in her decisions about the Katrina situation? Is it Bush for just being Bush? Is it FEMA for not getting there just that minute? Hey, some people are even blaming God! ...Right... Oh yeah. I didn't know the Republicans had a hurricane making machine. I wanna use it! I've talked with people who believe Clinton/Gore/Kerry/Insert Democratic person here would have done better than President Bush in his handling of the Katrina situation. Well, we'll never know will we?

NAACP and the CBC: Have they set up anything for Katrina survivors yet? (Wait! I see the NAACP has a Disaster Relief Fund) Aw, screw it, I'd rather give to my pastor's ministry anyway. ;)

RACE CARD!: I swear this should be a "Yu-Gi-Oh" or "Magic the Gathering" card. Do you know I heard someone actually excuse the black looters (there were white looters too) by saying that they had a right to loot because they were oppressed and they were getting back at society? I can understand the looting of food and water, and even shoes after talking to my mother, but big screen tv's, i-pods, computers, and jewelry? Would the rescue efforts have had been different had it been a place like Boston? If Boston's mayor and Massachusetts' governor weren't flakey like Louisana's, maybe. Everyone who should have been organized was VERY DISORGANIZED (black and white). I'll just say one thing. The poor (whatever color) got SCREWED, but it still doesn't excuse them from bad behavior.

Kanye West: Why is it people I have even a little bit of respect for (and I do mean little) decided to kill it at the WRONG TIME. If he would have said his "President Bush doesn't care about black people" line in a song or on his own time, I would have not had a problem with it. But to do it during a televised benefit for the hurricane survivors irks the living mess out of me. Leave your angry politcial opinions out of an event that doesn't call for them.

CNN: I don't watch CNN. No, let me correct myself, I RARELY WATCH CNN. I watch every other cable news station except for CNN. My friend watched CNN during the Pope's last days and my mom watched CNN during the first days of Katrina news. My friend was horribly offended and my mom kept wondering why it seemed CNN was showing blacks as just looters.

Planned Parenthood: I already don't like you. I doubt the first thing on ANY female Katrina survivor's mind was, "Gee, I need some morning after pills!" How about giving out food, water or other supplies? How wrong timey can you be? You did this during 9/11 too. I'm happy to say my Godmother threw your petition packet you sent her in the mail in the trash. You are as unbelievable as PETA and the ACLU.

The Far Left: You have problems.

'Cuz we don't feel like being parents.

The other day, I was watching X-play on G4 and they were discussing the GTA San Andreas game's "Hot Coffie" patch that apparently allows the player to have semi-detailed sex. This is only the PC version, btw. Because of this, parents and other groups against the game want it off the shelf because it's a bad influence on children. I guess it would be understable if it was a game for children. The same parent who complained that the games need to be rated are the same ones complaining about sexually explicit scenes in games. Now, if you went out and bought your 9-year-old the game because you just can't say no, then blame yourself. The raiting is right on the game. You know, the black and white logo that says "MA- Mature"? Yeah, it means it's not for kids.

Now, now my problem is that most parents only have problems with the sexual situations in GTA game series. Not the fact that you kill policemen, innocent people, steal cars, sell drugs, break into people's homes, and eventually even rumble with the army, all while gaining points for commiting these crimes. I have the game myself, but I wouldn't dare sit a 7-year-old child down to play it. Why? The game case clearly states this game ISN'T for children. Unfortunately, mos parents do the opposite. They simply by the game at the child's request without even looking into it, then complain about the content later.

However, it's no problem for them to let their children watch rated "R" movies where people get mutilated, shot and blown to kingdom come. Not to mention the sexual situations in those. That's just fine, but when it shows up in video games that aren't even meant for children, there's suddenly a game banning party at the angriest parent's house. That's an awful lot of hell to raise just because you don't check what you buy for your kids.

Gun control...A big joke with no punch line.

The NRA is evil!

The NRA promotes violence!

The NRA is for murder!

If you nodded in agreement to any of those, then I suggest kicking back and relaxing with a tall, cool glass of "Shut yer stinkin', rotten, lethal breath pie hole" and keep reading. You might learn something. If not, then maybe ignorance truly is bliss.

Now, I am 100% against gun control. Why? Because I'm a gun nut? Because I watch nothing but action movies where people shoot each other and blow things up? Or maybe because I wanna keep criminals the hell away from my private property. I'll let you decide on which reason makes more sense.

Now, the fact of the matter is there are two kinds of guns in America. Legal and illegal. Correct me if I'm wrong, but law abiding citizens have the right to purchase these legal guns as long as their background checks out, unless some gun shop owner decides to break the rules. As for illegal guns, criminals buy and sell them on the streets. Most street shootings are committed by these illegal and unregistered firearms. Why? Because criminals know that a registered firearm can be traced back to them.

Now many citizens on the right side of the law own guns. For sport or for protection, they have them in their home. Now, people argue for gun control because kids could find the gun, play with it and seriously injure themselves, or even worse. Well, that's really not the fault of guns as much as it is BAD PARENTING. Why would you leave your gun where little Billy could find it and blow his little brains out? And also, why wouldn't you teach him about gun safety so if he DID find it, he'd think, "Oh, a gun. Daddy explained why this is very dangerous. I'll go play video games now."

And, yes, I understand that some kids just don't follow the rules and might do this anyway. This goes back to parenting. If you knew your child well enough, you'd know whether or not you should leave them by themselves, especially if you have a gun in the house. And from what I've seen, parents who DO have guns in the house take these kind of precautions. That's not a good reason to enforce gun control. That whole "protect people from themselves" theme came and went with the "I Robot" story plot.

Then, they attack the constitution with "The right to bare arms was just for times of civil war". Then why is it seen as valid by the government? Why can I purchase a handgun and it be perfectly legal to have it on my person as long as I have a license? Why is Smith & Wesson still in business? Why are you being a moron? Why? For the love of all that is decent, tell me why! Ahem. Sorry, I get carried away. Anyway, that's another argument destroyed.

Hmm, the next argument is that a gun owner is more likely to injure him/herself than an intruder. Not with practice on how to use it properly. A gun law that I DO think should be passed would be that people who purchase firearms without backgrounds in using them should be required to take a class on gun safety before they can receive the weapon. That would prevent the owner from "injuring his/herself". Funny how simple these problems are to solve, isn't it?

My next point, let's say gun control laws are passed and they make next to impossible for a person to legally buy a gun. Crime will rise significantly. Why? Because when criminals with their illegal guns come for you, they don't have to worry about you returning fire because the law took your legal guns away. Now lay down on the floor as your property is stolen and remember to thank your gun control laws. Sure, you can install a security system, but there are people who know how to get around them due to some actually being former employees of security system companies. It makes more sense to pull out a legally purchased .45 and say "Leave, or leave a corpse. Your choice." I don't think they'd want to try again if that were to happen. Same thing if you were being robbed on the street. The moral of this story is that criminals will NOT obey the gun control laws, if they are passed all over America. All it will do is give them an advantage.

As for in-house safety, it's all a matter of taking responsibility. If you know that your children are liable to play with things they are not supposed to, teach them, let them know, or just don't leave them at home alone at all. Simple. Following up on Jade's previous post, I bring you supreme irony.

Weare, New Hampshire (PRWEB) Could a hotel be built on the land owned by Supreme Court Justice David H. Souter? A new ruling by the Supreme Court which was supported by Justice Souter himself itself might allow it. A private developer is seeking to use this very law to build a hotel on Souter's land. (Read the rest here: http://www.freestarmedia.com/hotellostliberty2.html)

That's right, peoples. There's a guy seeking justice against Justice Souter. Logan Darrow Clements is his name. I actually saw him doing an interview on television last night and he assured the public that this is far from a prank. He plans on using the eminent domain ruling against one of the justices, David H. Souter, who voted for such a ridiculous thing. So far, I've yet to here of any reactions or comments from Souter, but if he tries to fight it, we'll see how much of a hypocrite he is. I have a feeling it will turn out that way.

Now, as far as the ruling goes, I believe, like everyone else, that this is complete and utter bull. I, myself, hope to build my own house one day. They're basically saying that if I buy the land and build my house for my future family, the government can just come by and say, "We need your land. Here's a hundred bucks, start packing. Let's be honest, sometimes there isn't a large enough amount of money that can compensate for a house with deep emotional value. Some homes have been in families for decades, but they are still at risk of being taken away. Not because of behind mortgage payments, but because someone thinks it would be a great place for a shopping mall.

Um, no. If I built my house, spending massive time, effort and money to do so, I'll be damned if some rich government flunky knocks on my door and tells me I have to leave so they can tear it down. Hell, no. Unless you plan on bombing my house with me still in it, no dice. I believe you know what you can do with you mall, pal. And that's my opinion.

Now, back to the Souter vs. Clements case. All I can say is, GO, CLEMENTS, GO! I sincerely hope that others follow his lead and do the same to the other left-winged justices who voted for this crap. Or better yet, Clements could open up a chain conveniently located over the homes of the other justices. That would be, as Peter Griffin would put it, "frickin' sweet".

WHAT...THE...HECK?!

I'm over at Rambling's Journal, seeing what new stuff is up and I come across THIS entry and THIS article.

I have one thing to ask. The reality of a country at war.

And no, this album is not the bullshit answers to the questions you've seen us asked by the media. This is not someone that only parades around Iraq pretending to know whats going on and speaking on the behalf of soldiers whom he knows nothing about. LIVE FROM IRAQ is everything they dont want you to hear... heard. This is what soldiers who have stood beside
their friends as they fell really think about everything thats happening here... what we'll never be allowed to say on camera, or to the press... The post in mention talks about her being a “traditional woman” who would love to be married and taking care of her husband and (in the words of Dr. Laura) being her kids’ mom, but at the moment can’t. Some of the response posts got me thinking again about my school’s newspaper article a while back and a night I experienced not too long ago.

About two years ago, my school newspaper, The Spokesman, ran an article on how chivalry is dead. Men on the campus no longer held doors for girls or gave up their seats on crowded shuttles. Some girls were upset over it and some guys were either like “anytime I do that, they give me a mean look” or “tough cookies, get over it.” If I never had read the article I would have never known it was happening on my campus. There have only been rare (and I do mean rare) occasions when a guy on my Alma Mata’s campus wouldn’t hold the door for me. I would usually follow this with a thank you and if there happened to be another set of doors, hold them for him. This usually got me a chuckle from said guy or a “no, no,” and another door being held for me. Even off campus, when I am at the mall or wherever there is a high volume of traffic, if there is a man in front of me (besides my boyfriend), he is more than likely to hold the door for me. The shuttle is trickier, however, since as the years went by, the less I got on them. Most times I got on it, there were ample seats available, so there was no need for seats being given up. I do remember one time after the article came out, however, one guy did give me his seat on one of my school’s crowded shuttles. I thanked him and accepted his offer.

A semester or two ago, my sorority had a forum on “manners”. The presentation included the usual table manners and manners when doing certain other things. Somehow it got into the manners between the opposite sex, like chivalry, who pays for dinner, yatta yatta… Imagine my shock when my sorors were all around me, bemoaning the fact that things are not like they used to be. I wanted to stand up and say (being that my line name is “Amplifier” I probably would have said this very loudly), “Well, that’s feminism for you.” One of my sisters talked about how she thought that men who held doors wanted something and that she always had to nag her boyfriend to do something for her. The power of please goes a long way, ladies. Oh, I’ve nagged to my boyfriend before (many, many times -_-), but then I told myself one day, “You know what? I am his girlfriend, not his mother.” Once you realize that (“I am his wife, not his mother” for the marrieds out there), things get much better and easier. It was amazing to sit there in that room, with all these people and be (seemingly) the only one who wasn’t being treated or treating others like a feminist.

Chivalry isn’t dead. It’s just playing hide and seek.

RAA (Racial Activists Anonymous)

Welcome the RAA meeting. If you are here, you must be curious of how to solve the problem of racism against us by the infamous Whitey. Well, you've come to the right place. Take a seat and let the healing begin.

Step One: Admitting you are racist yourself. The reason for this is that if you think that someone is against you, you will eventually change that into a strong belief and that changes into hatred. Now, since you believe that Whitey hates you, I can assume that you hate him back. Therefore, you are racist as well.

Step Two: Finding Whitey. Yes, in order to hate this person, you must know where he lives so that you can confront your object of hatred from time to time. The best part is that you don't have to leave your seat for this part. Simply close your eyes and visualize Whitey.

Step Three: Realizing Whitey isn't real. Now, step two had a small lesson in it. If the only way to meet Whitey is to close your eyes and visualize him, then tell me how he would even exist? He wouldn't, would he? The truth is that he was there, in your head, the entire time. This means you can only hate yourself, because Whitey is nothing more than your own creation built with lies, hatred, and paranoia.

If you understand, then congratulations and have a nice life. If you still think Whitey is out there somewhere, then I'll see you at the next meeting.

"Making it Home"

Stay at home wives/mothers and future stay at home wives/mothers rejoice! :D Do you ever look at all the hordes of women's magazines and are disappointed that there are few to none that celebrate your choice? Well, here's a pleasant surprise linked from an article courtesy of Ladies Against Feminism.

We are in the process of creating a magazine for those who are trying to make it back home and for those who wish to make their home...home.

Women have been told for years that the only way in finding their self-worth is by going outside of the home and getting a job and becoming a part of the work force. Well, my question to you is...

Is it working? Have you found what you are looking for? Are you happy?

There is very little support in the media today for women who choose to stay home. If, according to the woman's movement, it is really all about choices then why is it that if my choice is to stay at home I do not have the same support as those who have chosen to go out in the workfield? Why is it that the choice only seems one way and almost as if my choice can only be according to the woman's movement agenda? As long as I go along with what they think, is it then and only then that I will get the support and encouragement needed?

Here you will find that support and encouragement you need to not only make it back home and stay home, but learn how to make it a home for your husband and children.

The name of the magazine is "Making it Home". Now go to time out."

First, I want to apologize about not posting for so long. Procrastination is something I excel at amazingly. Sorry. I blame high school life. ^^

Now, let's take a moment to think about child discipline, shall we? I have a pretty wide view of child discipline in general because I've been there. A lot. Now, hitting your children. A.)Right or B.)Wrong?

If you chose either one, turn in you parenting license. Classes start Tuesday.

Well, now you probably think I'm a nut case. Well, I won't disagree with you (neither will my girlfriend) but, there is a reason behind my opinion. You see, it all depends on what works for the child. Now, if you have a pretty obedient child who will stop when you tell him/her to, then fine. If a stern talking to calms your child down, then you can keep your belt around your waist. However, what if the child doesn't respond to your words?

I've seen many instances where the child is on a rampage in public and all the parent does is resort to "Please stop, don't do that" only to be totally ignored. Once I even saw a kid (5 years old, by the way) say "Shut up, mommy!" And continued to run around. Now, here's where I thought, "Whoa. This kid's in trouble now!"

The next thing I hear is, "Bobby, that was very rude! No candy!" From the kid's response, I'd say he didn't like candy because, if anything, he carried on even more than before. Walmart can be very entertaining in the fall, but I digress.

Now, my personal opinion is that maybe, just maybe, a spank on the rear would have calmed that situation. I mean, a lot of people I know had spankings and they turned out great. Lawyers, graphic artists, musicians, ever writers. Now, for those of you who believe that spankings are child abuse may either have no children, have really good children who don't need it, or have children that walk all over you as you try to stay in denial. Also notice I said "spank" not "beat the holy crap out of". Yes, there is a difference.

I know the difference because I've been there, like I said. I've had spankings and then I've had the latter. Now, if you spank them, it's bend them over your knee, a couple firm whacks (please refrain from a reenactment of the movie "Roots") and you're done.

The moment you decide to bring in punches, then foreign objects (power cords, hot irons, or any blunt objects with the potential to hospitalize), then congratulations, dude! You're a child abuser! With great pride we award with with an all expenses paid trip to County with a (non)luxurious room with the beautiful(not) Big Bubba/Birtha! You'll spend the next few years being violated by your cellmate and his/her friends! Yay!

Yeah, anyway...

I hear spanking is against the law now. What the deuce? Why in the heck is the government stepping into the parenting scene? I wouldn't have a problem if they offered to babysit, too. Some of you saw what happened in schools when certain disciplinary actions were banned. They ran wild, which is why when I have kids, they will never go to a public school. Plus, public school sucked for me. I'm biased on that one. Sue me.

I understand that child abuse is a problem, but there has to be a better way than interfering with all parenting in general. I mean if I have a kid who's rampaging through the toy store, tearing stuff up and saying, "Up yours, dad," you're telling me that I'm not allowed to stop him unless it's with my words? And I'm not going to even consider boarding school if a simple smack on the butt every now and then solves the problem.

We've gotta stop this, folks. Nowadays, if you give your child a smack on the behind, you risk getting them taken away. It's like accusing martial arts competitors of being killers. Sure, if they go too far, they could end up taking a life, but they have enough control not to.

To me, I think this law is just a lazy way of stopping child abuse, but because of it, we may end up dealing with parent abuse next. If your child walks all over you because you can't touch them, what else do you think will happen?

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://chocolatecoveredbanana.blogspot.com/2005/06/jimmy-dont-curse-at-mommy-now-go-to.html' title='"Jimmy, don't curse at mommy. Yesterday's hate for abortion has upgraded to today's abhorance. Why?

A UK Observer exclusive has revealed that the trafficking of unborn baby body tissues for use as “beauty” treatments in Russia is a booming trade. The unborn children are purchased from Ukrainian women – some of whom are also ‘duped’ by racketeering doctors who convince the women that the unborn baby is defective and needs to be aborted – thereafter selling the aborted child. The babies are cryogenically frozen and advertised as providing “youth injections” claimed to reverse aging and cure many diseases... more>>

That's why. And they're making serious money off of it! Beauty treatments?! Out of children?! It's like a sick version of the Matrix. Instead of batteries, babies are "collagen". A priceless gift alive comes with an up to $9,000 price tag dead. That's real sad.

"Negro Wars"

I got this via Nubian Journal's mailing list.

Negro Wars: Fighting for the Freedom to Integrate!
By R.A. This is no longer a war of liberation but a war of integration. The white flag was raised years ago after the civil war. Most Black men “stayed put” like Kizzy after the horror show that was slavery. I have since gone to college and am one summer class away from having that Graphic Design degree. Now with the type of field I am in I can A) work for a company out in the "work force" or B) Work from my home as a small business or freelancer.

Since I was 8 (and probably even younger than that), I have wanted children (and we ain't talking one or two). And as time goes by, it has been impressed upon me more and more to stay home with said children when I have them. As a parent out in the work force it would be hard to spend time with my children in the fashion that I would want to or homeschool them as I have wanted to do for a while. But being that I possess a major that would allow me to be at home with my children, I would be able to both things well.

God is good.

Oooh....Interesting...

http://www.theblackgop.com/

No reps from MD or SC yet...hmmm....

"Thoughtful Thoughts"

My boyfriend wrote this little blurb on his LiveJournal. Pastor has been fired and kicked out. If they find out even one person, one person was involved with setting the fire (besides the Pastor) then they will get no insurance money of any kind. Even if they do get the insurance money, members of Bethel will have to wait a good 2 years at the most to begin rebuilding. The investigation could take that long.

Car Sticker: I hate abortion. I really do. It cheapens human life and a lot of women do it for SELFISH reasons (Drudge Report, anyone?). I was driving in my car with my boyfriend and saw this little gem, "I (heart) my abortion provider." The first thought that came to my boyfriend and my minds? Slut. Just as bad as those Planned Parenthood shirts that have "I had an abortion" on them. That is so distasteful. I would order one of those shirts that say "I had a baby", but I've been smart enough to keep my legs closed until marriage.

"If It Hadn't Been For Feminism...": This is a bunch of crock. People give Feminism more credit than it will ever deserve. And that "2000 years of patriarchial rule" junk that some spout is so untrue. In colonial times women owned land and then in owning land they were able to vote, women held jobs and were able to make their own decisions. Only when married did a woman not vote, because her and her husband were seen as one, being of one love and one mind. It was only after the "Enlightenment" period that things changed and women were looked at as "fragile, docile creatures". Hardly 2000 years if you ask me. The Bible has also been twisted into being a way to keep some women "in their place". Notice I said "twisted". And as far as "in their place" I have no idea where that is, seeing as how the Bible regards women (Eve ain't the only one they talk about). Remember Queen Esther or the "Proverbs Woman"? Prized and praised. Some other verses you may want to see about women in the Bible: Deut. 21:15-17; Gen. 34:12; Ex. 22:17; Ruth 4:11; Prov. 14:1; Num. 27:7,8; 36:8; Gen. 48:5,6). It got used in a Sociology class my visiting friend from South Carolina attended at her college. I had printed it out the day before yesterday for her to read it, but she said she had already heard it in her class. I was floored. Small world. Some of her classmates used it in a presentation about "-isms", and no they didn't claim it as their own. They weren't able to debate it in the class though. (Darn... ;_;)

Graduation: I unofficially graduated from college yesterday. I was able to participate in the main graduation (my name was in the book!) with the presenting of all the schools (School of Liberal Arts, School of Business & Management, School of Engineering, etc.), but I was not able to participate in my school's one. I have one more class to take in the summer which I could have taken this semester past had I had known. The College of Liberal Arts was off the chain. We screamed so long the director of the ceremony had to ask us a good 3 times for us to be quiet, just for us to sit down and do it again. Another school that was across from us when called picked up chairs and held them in the air. Funny. Invited 5 people, 2 my parents, 4 showed. The one person I counted on being there the most, HUGELY disappointed me.

My Godmother's Neverending Quest to "Convert Me": I am a Republican. I have been that since I was four or five. Please don't try to talk or insult me into becoming anything else (i.e. a Democrat). It's not going to happen and I have a thing for proving people wrong time after time again. The Republicans are not flawless in my eyes, by no means, but the Democratic Party, unless they do some SERIOUS rennovations with their beliefs, will never win me over. I certainly won't be converted by someone who can't get their history right. The DEMOCRATIC PARTY was the party of slavery.

Black Slave Owners & "African-Americans": I'm so happy I at least know (personally) two other people who know there were black slave owners. My boyfriend, one of my friends from South Carolina and I were in Barnes & Noble the yesterday and my friend happened upon a book about black slave owners...from South Carolina. There were also black WOMEN slave owners and one of them, from what the book was saying, may have had a Rose (my friend's last name) or two. This is what I don't get about reparations. We might as well be paying ourselves. On the other topic of "African-Americans", I don't call myself African-American. I am not from Africa and as far as I know, I cannot trace my family back to Africa. For all I know, my ancestors could have been chillin' in Jamaica, the Bahamas or the Dominican Republic. My friend and boyfriend share the same beliefs and don't call themselves African-American. We are BLACK. Charlize Theron is African-American. I am not.

Homeschooling all the way! :D

I want to homeschool my future children. With the way a lot of public schools are going, it's becoming a constant thought. But a lot of people (people I've read about or people who know my plans) sometimes bring up that tired question, "What about 'socialization'"?

Psst. Come here. It's called Home School Associations and Conferences...

The following post is by a member of a forum I go to. She helped out at a homeschool conference. These poor "unsocialized" children! We must put them in a public school!

This past week I worked as a page at a homeschooling conference, helping to run sound and introduce speakers. There were about 100 other homeschooled kids who were helping to run the conference, ranging from about 11-20, I being the eldest. In all of those kids, there were no great troublemakers and with the exception of a few oddities, most seemed to be really good kids - friendly and helpful. The people who ran the conference center later complimented us as a group, saying that we were some of the nicest people they had worked with. The homeschooling family who ran the sound and taped the sessions said that we were some of the best people they had ever worked with (my sister and I were even offered a job with them. haha - what a great family!). Godfather's Pizza complimented us as well, saying that they had never served such a nice group of people - not just a nice group of young people, a nice group of people, period.

I am not able to be around these kids very often, so it was refreshing to be around such nice, friendly kids. The "socialization" problem was a continual joke during the conference, because it was so obvious that there was no socialization problem. Homeschoolers have far more opportunities for positive socialization than public schoolers - in fact, there are so many opportunities that the hard part is limiting them to a manageable number!

Doug Phillips of Vision Forum Ministries was our keynote speaker this year, and an excellent speaker, as always. There were a few feminists who said they would not attend the conference if he was the keynote speaker, but we had him anyway. He posed some great challenges for families to have a multi-generational vision as they seek to raise up godly, strong men and feminine women. It was encouraging to hear such a strong message going out to a good sized audience! I am not sure how many people attended the two-day conference as a whole, but the room for the keynote could hold about 1000 people, and we had people standing in the back.

Anyway, I thought ya'll might like to hear about these families who are raising their kids right and are seeking to make a cultural difference. Homeschooling conferences can be a great place to meet likeminded people, and it really is encouraging to see such a large number come together with common family and cultural goals.

I love you, Bethel AME

I'm hurt.

I'm angry.

I'm frustrated.

I've seen it on the news before, a church burned down. Though I felt for the lives touched, I couldn't honestly know what they were going through. But now the church I'm staring at on the TV is different from all the others. That burning/burnt church on TV and in the pictures is MY church.

For 12 years, Bethel AME, Summerville was the church I went to. It is the Gleaton family church (Gleaton [grandmother]---> McDonald [mother]---> Beasley [me]). When we first moved to Summerville (I'm a D.C. girl), Reverend Gadson was the pastor. He was blind/had a lazy eye, was old and he mumbled (which doesn't keep a seven year old's interest very long). Next was Reverend Washington, who was a lot younger, much more engaging. Then there was Reverend John Paul Brown whose son (unfortuantely) stole my first kiss (on the lips) on the education building porch. When I started going to college there was Reverend Paisley. And now there's Reverend Hunter, whom I've only met once (or twice). Wanna see a little piece of history? If you look hard enough, a part of the concrete walkway to the educational building bears the words (though small and accompanied with trademark smiley face) "Jade was here 2000". Both good and bad memories are housed in Bethel's now burnt down walls, including that first memory of "scrawberries" and "screets".

My mom called me a few days ago to talk to me. "They burned down Bethel." she told me before getting off the phone. "Who?" I asked. She didn't know, but she had told me the pastor, Reverend Hunter had been arrested and charged.

A day or two later. I saw my church, burnt extra crispy on FOX News Channel and remember thinking, "I should not be able to see that Pepsi machine." I was angry that day. I wanted to back hand whoever did this to my church and I was spitting mad.

Yesterday I cried. I saw pictures of my church burning as the Fire Department tried to put out the blaze. I called my boyfriend as tears streamed down my face. MY church had been burnt down. MY church. I so badly wanted to be on Main Street at that moment, but I was 900 miles away at work. It hurt.

To see the church you grew up in a burnt, almost unrecognizable state hurts and it hurts even worse that the pastor (THE PASTOR) may be the one to blame. The Bethel as I knew it is gone. It'll be rebuilt. It'll have to be. But gone are the pews where I used to lay my head on my mother's lap. Gone is the choir loft where I used to sing, Gone is the educational building where my grandma had a birthday party, surrounded by family and friends. Gone is the church I once pointed to proudly and said "That's MY church!".

MY Church

Site credit: Joel
Another blog about this: LaShawn Barber's Corner

Let...it...GO!!!

I wasn't going to vote for him to begin with, but I thought he did good on the debates (up until he mentioned that beaten dead horse of a "women make 78 cents to the dollar a man makes"), but John Kerry (and some of his supporters) is, and has been for a while, GETTING ON MY NERVES (and my boyfriend's who actually voted for him). The elections were in Novemember 2004 and he's STILL talking to voters about voters getting supposedly messed over in April 2005! If it wasn't for the fact that the man GAVE UP before the votes were finally counted, then his talks about voters (or himself) being messed over wouldn't be as grating. He lost, so why is he STILL trying to get on the horse he fell off of? No one person is going to stand up and suddenly say it's going to change tomorrow. You have to do that," he said.

Kerry supporters have charged that voting irregularities in largely Democratic areas made it difficult for voters to cast ballots in the November election. A lawsuit in Ohio cited long lines and a shortage of voting machines in predominantly minority neighborhoods, but the Ohio Supreme Court dismissed the suit.
Kerry also cited examples Sunday of how people were duped into not voting.

"Leaflets are handed out saying Democrats vote on Wednesday, Republicans vote on Tuesday. People are told in telephone calls that if you've ever had a parking ticket, you're not allowed to vote," he said.

Kerry has never disputed the outcome of election, saying voting irregularities did not involve enough votes to change the result. Then today I recieved the news while I was working earlier today.

Terri Schiavo had passed away today at 9 (or 9:05) AM.

When I first learned of Terri, both sides of her family and their situation, I was on the husband's side. A husband should know what a wife wants. Then I found out the husband was not as loyal as a husband should be. Not only did he have a girlfriend (or "common law wife" as I've heard some people say) he had children, 2 children, with her. Big red flag because, for me, that tells me he has motive and may not be thinking in his ailing wife's best interest. Other things I had learned over the last couple of days had made me gradually side with Terri's parents. Michael Schiavo, to even my boss, seemed and still seems like a heartless bastard.

In response to the government intervening, I'm split. I didn't feel it was right in one aspect, then I think it was right in another aspect. I was suprised to see Jesse Jackson in front of the camera during the last days of Terri. Mel Gibson also had his say in this case.

I don't want feminist groups that say they "speak for all women" to ever open their mouths again. Besides the "Concerned Women for America" (are they feminist?) I didn't hear any other women's groups. You mean to tell me an "evil man" is killing one of your "sisters" and you're not helping her? I hate feminism, but you already know that if you've read some of my previous posts. There was dispute over Terri's wishes, so please don't say it was "her wish".

I don't believe this controversy is going away any time soon. We have opened Pandora's Box and even Hope has escaped.

Rest in Peace, Johnny Cochran

After an extended bout with brain cancer/a brain tumor, Johnny Cochran has died. "Disenfranchisement".

I was looking at New Leadership when I tripped over this article about a fight over a bill in Georgia. The bill would make residents who wish to vote in elections to have to present their photo ID (or 4 other types, down from 17 other types) when they do so.

So what's wrong with this?

Some Georgia Democrats compare passing this bill to the returning of JIM CROW LAWS in the South, saying that it "has the potential to disenfranchise poor, elderly and minority people who do not drive, can't work or who otherwise have no means to get proper photo ID."

Hello?! Buses? Taxis? FRIENDS? And I can't tell you how many people I've seen who are disabled (and therefore unable to work) who have a photo ID when I was at WalMart. In Maryland, we have Driver's license photo IDs and State issued photo IDs. I gather every state has these? It'll only disenfranchise people who LET IT.

Why do they act like this is a new idea? In the 2004 election, I had to show my ID when I voted. Big deal. When they said they wanted every vote to count, they weren't kidding. Yes, let's count every imaginary friend, dog, cat, hamster, dead relative and person under multiple aliases while we're at it! Because that's what happens if you don't crack down on voter registration abuse.

I pray that the deciding vote in a presidential (or any) election never comes down to Carl the fish.

It's about time....

...I write that book before my head explodes. Today, Michael Jackson is late to the courtroom a day after facing his accuser. Keeping his word on the serious consequences Jackson would face the next time he didn't show up, the judge in less than an hour, will put in a warrant for Jackson's arrest. If you're keeping up with this trial, willingly or unwillingly, are you getting sick of stuff like this? The man says he's innocent (and I'm not saying he is or he isn't), but stunts like this have to make people and even the jurors think. If I'm screaming my innocence to everyone, I'd make sure I was in the courtroom EVERY DAY. Wheel me in on a gurney if you must, but I'd be there. I understand that this man is probably under a lot of stress, but seeing where he could end up, which is more stressful?

I think the judge's idea of arresting him for the remainder of the trial is a good idea. At least we'll know where he is, how he's doing and we'd know he'd never be late again. Jackson's poor lawyer must be so embarrassed and the jury must be FURIOUS. This is very disrespectful for all parties involved. Jackson needs to realize this trial is serious and that it should not be treated so lightly.

11:56 AM EST: He's on his way. If you watched Hannity & Colmes last night or the night before you got to see a video of HOT 97's newest cheap thrill. Smackfest! Yes, a contest where two women exchange blows to the face like one of them stole their man. The louder the smack, the greater your chances at winning a cash prize. A representative from HOT 97 defended the event saying that people have always done "silly" things to win money. Silly? "Silly" is sitting in a dunking booth in only a light t-shirt and shorts in the freezing cold waiting for someone to hit the target so you can plummet into freezing cold water. "Silly" is puckering up to a new car for 15+ hours to win it. Causing harm to one's face and body is not silly. Would you call an event where contestants give each other the biggest black eye to win cash prizes "silly"? HOT 97 has gotten past "silly" in my book.

They've just gotten plain "dumb".

It's not just a "Girl Problem"

I walked by a flyer yesterday in my college’s Fine Arts Department which made me a little angry. The ad requested the help of artists who were interested in submitting artwork to raise domestic abuse against women, children and families awareness. I know that domestic violence does happen to women and children, but as I pointed out to my old ceramics teacher, it happens to men too (I guess that’s the "family" part). She agreed with me, knowing an old college roommate who abused her own boyfriend. But like many people, she didn’t believe it until she saw it.

Times have changed. Women can no longer be looked at as damsels in distress or innocent beings. We are no longer just the receivers of abuse. We can be the givers of it too. It’s the dirty little secret a lot of women’s groups don’t want you to know and refuse to acknowledge. Women today are just as likely as their male counterparts to abuse their significant others. Having trouble believing some women abuse their men? Here are 123 documented cases. But of course that’s only 123. How can such a percieved petite damsel abuse a strong, towering man? While most men use their hands to abuse, women use guns, knives and other weaponry among other things.

It’s not a "new phenomenon." Some women did not just wake a week ago and say, "hey, I’m going to abuse my man today." It’s been happening for years. Just like a lot of women, a lot of men do not report abuse by the hands of their significant other. Some men feel ashamed and others feel that they will not be taken seriously if they do report the abuse. Some abused men stay in abusive relationships for the same reasons some abused women stay. They think that one day their abusers will have a change of heart and stop. Others because they don’t want to leave their children with an abusive parent. At least if a woman wants to leave she has a plethora of shelters to go to. Men have very limited if at all choices, many shelters that house abused women rejecting them because they are the "enemy".

Domestic violence laws (and acts such as the Violence Against Women Act or VAWA) paint all men as abusers and all women as abused. But both men and women can be abusers and both men and women can be the abused. It’s not always a man (and it has never been always a man) who raises his hand to a fearful woman. The opposite is true too. Men can be abused. It’s not a laughing matter and it is not something to overlook just because it isn’t "popular thought". Abused men need laws and acts passed on their behalf too. They need people and establishments to go to who take them seriously.

Last October, my pastor handed out purple ribbons for the congregation to wear. Along with a lot of other things, October is "Domestic Violence Awareness Month." While many people wore their ribbons for the women and children victims of domestic violence, I wore it not for the women victims or the child victims, but for the men victims.

It’s time to uncover our ears, our mouths and our eyes. It’s not just a "Girl Problem".

Links worth mention:
http://www.batteredmen.com/index.htm
http://www.dvmen.org
http://www.safe4all.org
http://www.batteredmenshelpline.org

Enter the Wiseguy....

Hello, all. My name is Arthur and I'm looking forward to posting articles of my own here. This is just a small intro, to give you a little bit of an idea of what my articles are going to be about.

First of all I dislike modern feminism, due to the massive hypocrisy that acts as the very foundation for it.

Also, I think Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are in steadfast competition to take Satan's title belt for King of B.S. I do not see them in a positive light at all and that goes for the NAACP as well. All I really see them doing is creating MORE racism through false victimization, pointing their fingers at any random caucasian(s) and accusing them of being racist, all while ignoring issues that truly need attention.

With that out of the way, here's a little bit more about me personally. I was raised around people who constantly believe in the democrats are good and republicans are bad theory. I believed this for a while until actually looking up things for myself. The more I learned, the more I realized how much truth is hidden out there under the blankets of idiocy and hypocrisy. Of course, not all want to open their ears to the truth. I found that out the hard way. I guess it's just easier to live the easy lie than to embrace the difficult truth. So I ask....are you ready to embrace the hardship called "truth"?

"Massa" George?

Sunday past I got into a discussion about President Bush with my friends. While the president is still not on the top of my A list, I feel there are some things he has done that are worth commending. My friends, however, only seemed to want to see Bush as evil incarnate, bringing up all the bad things and belittling the good. Iraqi elections? Who cares, there were no WMDs. Meeting with black pastors who were concerned with their communities? Those pastors must have ulterior motives since they were meeting with him. As they sat there and talked about George Bush like he was the ultimate evil, one of my friends said two things that show me she doesn’t research things for herself, goes by word of mouth (however messed up it may be) and makes me question her knowledge of our kind of government. The first thing was that Bush wants to bring back the draft. I remember this fiasco during the Bush and Kerry debates. Bush wants to bring back the draft no more than Kerry did. The second thing she said blew me away on so many levels. I heard from a co-worker of mine that my friend is not the only one who says and believes this.

"Bush wants to bring back slavery."

Huh? He wants to what? I don’t...get...it. And even if he did, how? Not only do we have an amendment banning slavery, the American people would never allow it (unless we were under some serious mass hypnotism). Last time I checked we didn’t have a dictatorship. He’s been in office for 4 years. He’s in for another 4. He’s had some time to do it if he wanted. He hasn’t and he won’t. He can’t. Also, it seems a bit hypocritical for someone to want freedom in one country, but slavery in his own. Let’s not forget that not all slaves were black (and not all black slaves were from Africa), so if George Bush were to bring back slavery, it would be trouble for everybody.

"Massa" George? Not likely. Not ever.

STOP IT!

Mary Kay Letourneau seems to have started something that won't go away.

I am getting so SICK of these "women" teachers who are coming out of the woodwork being charged with having sex with underage boys. What is your damage?! What are you not getting from your husband or what messed you up so bad you have to go to CHILDREN for love?! How, HOW in the world do they think that this is normal?! It's not beautiful! It's not normal! It's not a "special kind of love"! It's sick, disgusting and it's being a pedophile! If a man was charged with doing the same thing he would be RAKED THROUGH THE COALS! These women seem to be thinking of one thing and one thing only, THEMSELVES. They don't care about their loved ones, they don't care about the boy, they don't care about their own self-worth, they don't think about their own dignity! There are things you don't do, and THIS IS ONE OF THEM! One day I plan to have children and I welcome the thought of having boys. BUT SO HELP ME GOD, if I EVER find out my boys are being MOLESTED by a pedophile woman, YOUR BEHIND IS MINE.

NAMBLA, you too!

Michael, Michael, Michael...

They are what Dan Abrams of the Abrams Report call the "Jackson 12", 12 jurors and their 8 alternates presiding over the Michael Jackson case. Of the 12 regular jurors, 8 are women, 4 are men. Jackson’s "peers", eight whites, three Hispanics and one Asian, will hear the case and decide the verdict. They are mothers and fathers, and at least two have had experience with child abusers and the abused.

Jackson has gotten himself in a pickle. He is being charged with the child abuse of a boy whom spent time with him at his Neverland Ranch. Accusations of "Jesus Juice", being held at the ranch against the boy’s will and pornography are abound. To convince the jurors of his innocence, the defense is bringing in all sorts of famous stars to speak on Jackson’s behalf among other things.

Anyone I ask about this case either says one of two things. "They need to leave him alone," or "He did it," are the statements I hear. I’ve also heard from other people he is not going to have a fair trial because he is a successful, black man. The man is darn well near transparent, and even so, why must these people ignore all the red flags and zero in on that one, insignificant thing? Michael’s own father cries racism whenever he can and just like when Tiger Woods’ father does, I look at him like he is crazy.

I believe Michael Jackson will get a fair trial. But he could have avoided all this if he would have just learned from the first time. Maybe the boy and his mother are just out for the money, maybe Jackson did do it. I don’t know, but that’s what the trial is for. If convicted, Jackson could be looking at a lot of time in jail, a place where those convicted of child molestation are not looked upon very favorably.

It’s the new "trial of the century." Let’s hope they get it right this time unlike the last one.

3 TIMES?!

I hate the flu. I guess Michael Jackson gave it to me and then I gave it to Michelle Malkin. (laughs) It's almost gone though, so I'm happy. Soon I'll be back to some real blogging and hopefully, my new blogmate will be able to post some of his "conservative-in-training" thoughts. Came across this article today, courtesy of Ladies Against Feminism.

From Times Online - Sunday Times Edition:

The Sunday Times - Britain
February 13, 2005
Boy is aborted 3 times and lives
Lois Rogers and Sarah-Kate Templeton

A BABY survived at least three attempts to abort it from the womb and was born alive at 24 weeks old.
The boy was delivered in hospital after his 24- year-old mother changed her mind about wanting the child after feeling it move on the way home from an abortion clinic.

Although the clinic had told her an ultrasound scan had confirmed the child was dead, she went into labour that afternoon and the boy was born alive.

Now two years old and healthy, he is the first long-term abortion survivor to have been born so prematurely. His remarkable entrance into the world is documented in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

The mother had not realised she was going to have a baby until 22 weeks into the pregnancy and felt that she could not cope with a second child. She was given a series of abortion drugs over four days at a private clinic.

After birth the child was rushed to the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit where he was on a ventilator for 7Å weeks. He fought off several life-threatening infections and suffered from severe lung disease for his first six months. He was allowed home after seven months of treatment.

Dr Paul Clarke, one of the report’s authors and the baby’s doctor at Hope hospital in Salford, Greater Manchester, said: “This mother went through extreme hardship waiting to see if her baby was going to make it. She was told to expect him to die so many times. I am full of admiration for her.”

The attempted abortions had been carried out at the British Pregnancy Advisory Service’s Blackdown clinic in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.

Clarke reveals that paediatricians often intervene to save babies who have survived abortions.
He writes: “Late abortion raises serious practical, ethical and professional concerns. The dilemma of being telephoned about an infant born showing signs of life following termination of pregnancy is one that many paediatricians have faced. If viable, and resuscitated, those infants who survive may suffer significant illness.”

The paper calls for a review of late abortions at private clinics where there are no staff qualified to give emergency treatment if babies are born alive.

Ann Furedi, chief executive of the British Pregnancy Advisory Service, said: “It sounds highly unusual. Usually we would keep a woman at the clinic until she delivered the foetus. The feminists lassoed Harvard University President Lawrence Summers, no less, and dragged him groveling through the ivy until they wrung from him all they wanted and more.

The most intolerant feminists are on the faculties of elite colleges and universities. The Communists used to severely punish as "deviationists" all those who strayed from the party line, but feminists have taken adherence to orthodoxy to new heights.

It didn't help Summers that he was president Bill Clinton's secretary of the treasury. Summers thought he was chatting off the record with intellectuals who had the maturity to engage in a little light banter combined with a provocative suggestion for academic research or possibly a new doctoral dissertation.

He was wrong. To liberals, some subjects are not only non-debatable, they are non-researchable because they think they already know the answers and they don't want to be confused by facts.

The cornerstone of the political correctness that dominates campus culture is radical feminism. And the first commandment of feminism is: I am woman; thou shalt not tolerate strange gods who assert that women have capabilities or often choose roles that are different from those of men.

Summers said that he had tried gender-neutral upbringing on his little daughter by giving her toy trucks to play with. She immediately pretended they were dolls and named them "daddy truck" and "baby truck."

Summers wasn't proclaiming a new scientific discovery. Sex differences from the cradle are known to every parent and were explained to the public in delightful detail in John Stossel's famous ABC documentary called "Boys and Girls Are Different." But a lot of feminists are still in the dark on this matter because they don't have any children or at least don't have both sons and daughters.

Then Summers suggested that some studies be undertaken to see whether there are any innate gender differences that might explain why fewer women than men have succeeded in science and math careers in academia.

That was the torch that ignited an international media firestorm. Abandoning all dignity, Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor Nancy Hopkins slammed down her laptop and stormed out of the room because, she said, "I would've either blacked out or thrown up." Her stereotypical behavior confirmed speculation that women might be unable to face scientific issues scientifically.

Another feminist demanded that Summers immediately submit to a week of "intense discussions" to get him to admit his guilt. Other feminists ran to the Internet and to friends in the media to activate an orgy of indignation and personal attacks.

Congressional liberals got into the act, too. Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., was quoted nationally that Summers "knows that he clearly crossed the line."

Summers didn't say anything that hasn't been said by a few courageous scholars many times before. For example, University of Virginia Professor Steven Rhoads' book "Taking Sex Differences Seriously" (Encounter) is copiously documented.

But, as the dean at the very feminist Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Studies said, Summers gave us "an opportunity that didn't exist before" and we took it "to see that the changes at Harvard get made."
After two weeks of flagellation by the liberal media plus those "intense discussions" (a k a Soviet-style re-education) to force Summers to accept liberal dogma and use only feminist-permitted language, a contrite Summers apologized over and over again. It was unconditional surrender.

Summers appointed not one but two task forces: one on women in the Harvard faculty and another specifically on women in science and engineering, to recruit, support and promote women.

The task forces, which must report by May 1, are made up of 22 women and 5 men - the feminist version of gender equality. The chairman of the task force on women in science and engineering told the press she took the assignment only on Summers' promise that he will "act immediately on the suggestions."

It's doubtful that the task forces will make any suggestions - more likely they will issue orders. The announcement didn't include any caveat that new female hires be as qualified as the men who would be passed over, because Summers is already on record as endorsing affirmative action.

In one more Summers capitulation, he will appoint a commissar of faculty diversity. Perhaps we should say a commissarina since there's no need to speculate about her gender.

When will American men learn how to stand up to the nagging by the intolerant, uncivil feminists whose sport is to humiliate men? Men should stop treating feminists like ladies, and instead treat them like the men they say they want to be.

Amen.

Imagine this...

Imagine this commercial...

The setting is a party hosted by Jesse Jackson where all of the people know each other. I was born and was growing up in DC when Reagan was the President of United States. I was a little too young to fully remember him, but all it took was the words "I like him." for my parents to know. Since then I’ve grown up. Books and the internet have given me access to information about Ronald Reagan. I still like him.

When I became voting age, my parents didn’t command me to vote Democrat like a few people I know parents did. They knew what I was and never did try to change it. Although they are both Democrat, they let me research and choose for myself. I voted for Bush in the 2000 election, but voted for Peroutka in 2004. Bush was my second pick so I wasn’t upset at his victory (and I still don’t believe I "wasted my vote" as defeatist thinkers believe). I plan to stay a Republican all my life even if I do vote for an independent party candidate here and there.

I believe in a small government that is there only when deemed needed. I believe welfare (if it has to be around) should be there for people who really need it, not for people who are too lazy to work, believe they are owed something or for women who just have baby after baby (...after baby) just to get more. I do not believe in affirmative action. I especially believe affirmative action in academia hurts more than helps. I believe the giving out of reparations for slavery is a bad idea. I myself don’t like the idea of getting money for something I never went through but what would it accomplish if we were to get reparations? Nothing. I believe abortion is wrong, period, and unfortunately the late Margaret Sanger (the founder of Planned Parenthood) would be overjoyed to know that black women are having abortions at such a high rate. I do not believe in gay marriage and not only because I feel that homosexuality is wrong. I support concealed weapons and people being able to keep their own guns in their own house. I believe in school vouchers and that politicians who oppose them should put their own children in public school.

Female. Black. Republican. Proud.

There was a point in my life where I felt alone, though not entirely, in being a black Republican/conservative. Clarence Thomas, Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice are black Republicans, but I didn’t know many other black Republicans or conservatives I could relate to. One day I decided to, for the fun of it, to look up all the political parties and their platforms through the years. It is then I discovered La Shawn Barber...a black woman...who was a conservative...from DC...who happened to have gone to college in South Carolina (I lived in SC for 13 miserable years, I still want my old DC house back)! I was overjoyed to say the least. It was about this time I discovered Larry Elder, the black libertarian Republican with a take charge attitude. Things then snowballed. Star Parker, Mychal Massie, Thomas Sowell, Armstrong Williams, Ambra Nykol, Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, Niger Innis, Roy Innis, M. H. King, Michael Cobb. If they weren’t both, they were one or the other. I also found out my boyfriend’s friend was a Republican. I even found out at least two of my sorors, famous ladies of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Sheryl Underwood and Dr. Eunice Thompson were Republican. I was and am still thrilled. I no longer felt alone. I felt proud.

You ain’t black if you ain’t Democrat!

If it’s one thing I can’t stand it is how blacks who choose something other than the Democratic Party are treated. I’m sorry. I didn’t know I was automatically programmed to be a Democrat just because I’m black. Darn that faulty programming! "Sell out!", "Uncle Tom!", "House N*****!" and "Aunt Jemima!" (Love that syrup by the way) are a few choice words white and black liberals have for black conservatives and Republicans. Okay, okay. Let me explain something to some of the liberals who take part in kindergarten tactics like this. If you’re trying to encourage someone to become something that you are, calling them names is not the way to go. It’s like those few Christians that literally scream at homosexuals they are going to hell if they don’t stop being homosexual. It just gets them angry and they tune you out. A nice, civil conversation can get almost (ALMOST) anyone to listen and change, but putting someone down or using "scare tactics" is not going to get you on their A list anytime soon. Sometimes I wonder if most of the people who call anyone an "Uncle Tom" have actually read Uncle Tom’s Cabin (by Harriet Beecher Stowe). As my mom has pointed out to me on numerous occasions, Tom was a strong, black man. So...basically...someone would be paying me a compliment if they called me an "Uncle Tom". Nice...but then again...I’m not a guy...

Because I don’t play victim or love to use white racism to explain away my failures, some liberals have labeled me "not black". Chairman Julian Bond of the NAACP has also labeled people like me "puppets" of the Republican Party. "They should talk," was the response I got from my boyfriend once. No, really they shouldn’t. They’re losing my respect (and even my mom’s) faster than a walk to their National Headquarters (I live 8 blocks from them at the moment). You mean that the color of my skin will literally disappear and I will become as white (if not whiter) as Michael Jackson if refuse to vote Democrat?! Oh my gosh, Michael, you voted Republican didn’t you?! Condeleezza Rice, Colin Powell and Clarence Thomas are, by a liberal’s definition, "not black". But people like Jesse "Just Me" Jackson, Al "Reparations Now!" Sharpton and even Bill "I did not have sexual relationships with that woman" Clinton are. Oh, and just because Clarence Thomas married a white woman, it somehow deems him unable to handle things when it comes to people of his own race. Uh...yeah...okay... How did black liberals react to Thurgood Marshall’s Asian wife? Maybe something was said at first, but through the years I’ve never heard anything bad. But unlike his Republican "brother", Clarence Thomas + white wife = "race traitor". Whatever you say...

I am a black conservative Republican. I am not some self-loathing nut job and I’m not helping to "turn back the clock". I just feel that I should be able to be a part of ANY party I choose, even if it is the party that was brought together to abolish slavery, whose members passed the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments and whose members passed the Civil Rights Acts. If you believe the Democratic Party did all these things, you need to pick up a history book.

Oh and another thing...my boyfriend renounced his Democratic Party affliation the other day. And if you tell him he’s "not black" I’m not responsible for the sarcastic (yet funny) remark that will come out his mouth.

Al Sharpton & KFC, best friends become foes

Instead of addressing the out-of-wedlock births, the abortion rates, crime and education problems within the black community, after a hiatus from the media spotlight, Al Sharpton rises and chooses to address the problems of CHICKENS as he allies with the crazy, radical, vegetarian agenda pushing likes of the group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). Poor KFC, it just lost its biggest customer.

From the New York Times:

Sharpton Joins With an Animal Rights Group in Calling for a Boycott of KFC
By MELANIE WARNER
Published: February 2, 2005

The Rev. Al Sharpton will not eat at KFC and he doesn't think you should either.

Starting today, Mr. Sharpton is joining forces with the animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals to urge a boycott of KFC, which is owned by Yum Brands of Louisville, Ky. Mr. Sharpton and PETA want the fast food chain to require its chicken suppliers to put in place new standards for the treatment of the 750 million chickens they process for KFC every year in the United States. The rap mogul Russell Simmons is also joining the Sharpton campaign.

"If we give our money to KFC, we're paying for a life of misery for some of God's most helpless creatures," says Mr. Sharpton in an eight-minute video that will be shown outside KFC's around the country.

PETA has been waging a campaign against KFC for two years. The organization was eager to enlist Mr. Sharpton because KFC has many stores in largely black neighborhoods and in late 2003 KFC executives told investors they were making an increased effort to market to blacks.

Mr. Sharpton and PETA are demanding that KFC force its chicken suppliers, like Pilgrim's Pride and Perdue, to give chickens more room in factory barns and to make use of a process that puts birds to sleep with nitrogen before they are killed. They are also asking KFC to stop its suppliers from forcing such rapid, hormone-driven growth that the birds crumple under their own weight.

PETA said that unlike other companies, KFC has been largely unresponsive. "KFC has been by far the most stubborn corporation we have attempted to work with," said PETA's president, Ingrid Newkirk, in a written statement.

Yum Brands, which also own Taco Bell and Pizza Hut, declined to comment on PETA's demands and allegations. "PETA is an organization more interested in promoting vegetarianism than the truth," a spokesman, Jonathan Blum, said.

PETA recently won a concession from McDonald's, which said it would study the possibility of requiring American suppliers to use the process of so-called controlled-atmosphere killing.

Several years ago, in response to PETA's "Unhappy Meal" campaign, McDonald's, which buys one of every 20 eggs sold in America, agreed to buy eggs only from farms offering hens extra water, more wing room in their cages and fresh air.

PETA says it has chosen to shed light on the chicken industry in recent years because large chicken producers and sellers have made little movement toward more humane practices. "The chicken industry is way behind the beef and pork industries," said Dr. Temple Grandin, associate professor of animal science at Colorado State University and a member of Yum Brands' animal welfare advisory council. "They need to work on getting some of the same auditing systems in place."

Animal welfare specialists like Dr. Grandin agree with PETA that the short lives of chickens need to be improved. Dr. Grandin said that as many as 6 percent of birds suffer broken wings or legs when workers pack them into crates and onto trucks.

"A lot of workers aren't adequately trained," said Dr. Mohan Raj, a senior research fellow at the University of Bristol in Britain and a veterinarian who has studied chicken welfare practices in the United States.

Animal rights activists are hardly KFC's only problem. In recent years, the company has been the financial stepchild at Yum Brands. Last year KFC's same-store sales were down 2 percent; sales increased at Taco Bell and Pizza Hut.

I'm just about to say screw it and not make my boyfriend dinner tonight. I should take him to KFC and we get the biggest order of chicken we can get. I will continue to eat at KFC and I will continue to look at Al Sharpton like he is crazy more now because he cares for chickens more than his own people.

Whatever Happened to Good Old Fashioned Values?

Rogue Prom dresses and talks about Teen Sex were topics of this week that leave me sighing. What is going on with the world these days? Are traditional, "old-fashioned" values being shot and killed on sight? These such events reminded me today of an article I wrote last year. I posted this on a forum I frequent. This article dealt with my being sick of being called an "old-fashioned" girl as if it was something bad. When compared to what I could be....being old-fashioned seems SO much better....

You Say "Old-Fashioned" Like it's a Bad Thing
September 23, 2004

Call me old-fashioned if you want to, but I will no longer apologize for it.

I think being "old-fashioned" in this modern world is a good thing. Many people would disagree, but I don't care (I've learned not to care of what people thought of me since high school. It's too much work to satisfy everyone and then some people are never satisfied).

How is being "old-fashioned" better than being "modern"?

1.) "Old fashioned" girls know the value of their body.

I view my body as a temple, which only one man is allowed to enter and exit, my husband (if and when I get married). Because of the Feminist movement, many "modern" women (thanks to the "Sexual Revolution") view their bodies as a tool or as nothing, sleeping with everyone and everything under the moon. I have always wanted to wait until marriage and will continue to do so. I feel that the ultimate gift you can give to your husband is your virginity. Some people may say, "but your gift could be staying with him your entire life." The thought that goes through my mind when someone says this? "And what if he dies the next day?" (OOPS! OH WELL! So much for giving him my entire life!). I also feel that when I get married, I don't want to be "used". If someone blows their nose on a new hankerchief and then gives it to you (with the snot still on there), would you use it? I'd hope your answer would be no as mine would. So many people these days wait for "the one". But for many people "the one" becomes "a one". If I had waited for "the one", do you know how many people I would have slept with? I'll tell you the hankerchief would be dripping. In addition, I've noticed some people I've talked to will say, "I wish I could be a virgin again/would have stayed a virgin." You mean some people wish they would have waited?! Well, I'm not wishing, I am.

2.) "Old fashioned" girls know the value of a good man

So many "modern" women want themselves a "bad boy" these days. How some women are attracted to these kind of "men", I'll never know. But then these same "modern" women will turn around and complain about how there are no "good men" out there (Well if you'd get out of your "bad boy" relationship and stay out of them, and learn how to treat a "good man" well, maybe you'd find one and keep one!) when they're everywhere. Well, my "old fashioned" behind found one, so I don't know what your problem is (oh wait, yes I do). I treat my man with love and respect and he does the same for me. When he stops treating me like his queen then I'll stop treating him like my king. I encourage him, listen to him, tell him I love him, make him things (food or otherwise), massage his feet, snuggle (childhood word of mine for "cuddle") with him and do other things to show him I appreciate him. Feminism has taught "modern" women that men don't have feelings and to treat them like trash. "Modern" women, this belief is a backfire waiting to happen and I won't be one of the unlucky ones to experience it. "Garbage in, garbage out". If you treat your man like trash, don't be surprised if one day he starts doing the same thing to you.

3.) "Old fashioned" girls know the value of children

Today's "modern" women will have their 2.5 children and put them in daycare or give them to a nanny to take care of. I'll be darned if I take the time out to have children and then leave them with someone who isn't me. You had them, take care of them! If money allows, I want to stay home and raise my children. If not me, then my husband. I love children, especially babies. Yes, they can cry up a storm and annoy you half to death, but they are still the most precious thing God can give to you. "Modern" women will look at children as a set of "ball and chains" and some won't even think twice when their irresponsible, skanky behind aborts one (or two, or three, or....). Feminism has taught "modern" women that babies, (along with men) can weigh you down on your career. Life is about sacrifies, and this is one of those times when it is called for. If you don't want to sacrifice your life for children, then don't have them. My mom sacrified many a party/event/whatever to make sure I was with her at all times. I guess that's why I didn't mind when it was my first day at school. I had no "seperation anxiety" because there was no need for none. Women if you have children, TAKE CARE OF THEM!

4.) "Old fashioned" girls value the small things

"I'm sorry" can go a long way. I think that is one of the main reasons my boyfriend and I got together. It was this small thing, two words (three for you English Majors), that made me respect him a lot. Out of all the things this man has given me, my most favorite isn't the $200 ring/earing/necklace set, it's the $5 Kuroneko-sama from Trigun cat. There are many "modern" women out there who will DEMAND from their men stuff they know darn well they can't afford. What good is a 75 bedroom, 100 bathroom house if there is only 2 people living in it? What good is a high priced car that guzzles gas like no tomorrow if you have a station wagon (I always wanted one of these, and a periwinkle one at that) that lasts on $20 for two weeks? If you are so "independant", buy it your own darn self! I didn't beg and demand my boyfriend to buy the opal ring that's on my left hand. I bought it myself! Stop being a sheep to Feminism and buy it yourself!

I've also noticed that some modern women can't do ANYTHING! Cook, clean, sew, whatever!

Why the world would you WANT to subject yourself to Old Country Buffet/McDonalds/Perkins/Burger King/Insert-Other-Restuarant-Name-Here everyday is beyond me! It's much cheaper and healthier to make food at home! If you can't cook, learn! If you can't cook good, learn from someone who does! Your body and your children will thank you. At least you have no excuse to "let yourself go" and at least your children won't be subject to schoolyard taunting because their behind is too rollypolly to play tag!

I'm not going to front like I'm the "Queen of Clean", but when the filth gets too thick or trash gets too high, CLEAN! My godparents are a perfect example. Don't hire a housekeeper, do it yourself! Stop watching Ricky Lake, Jerry Springer or Oprah! Stop talking to those no good loser friends on the phone! Clean the house! Get "Cleaning for Dummies" if it helps! Make your house a clean haven, not a filthy nightmare.

I can't really remember when my mom taught me to sew, but it had to have been when I was around seven. I can sew buttons on shirts and pants, sew doll shirts, I can even sew up a hat (See Tony Tony Chopper from the anime "One Piece" to see what I'm talking about, antlers included). I've JUST learned how to use a sewing machine and with the extra time that I'll have not sewing by hand hope to sew up a nice bedroom set, clothes and even a nice nursery set for an old co-worker of mine expecting a baby. So many "modern" women can't thread a needle, let alone sew. I guess when a button falls off or something rips they throw it away. More money down the drain...

So being "old fashioned" is a bad thing? I beg to differ...

Huh?

Last night, I had a talk with a god-relative concerning topics such as Condoleezza Rice, the Republican Party, Colin Powell and Clarence Thomas. It really struck me that she thinks the following things.

She believes:

The Republicans didn't want Condoleezza Rice to be Secretary of State.
If they didn't the Democrats that were against her really hogged the spotlight

The Republican Party was brought together to keep black people slaves.
Last time I checked in my books or on educational sites like Houghton-McMillian(?) it was the Democratic Party...

The Republican Party had nothing to do with black people gaining civil rights.
But they were the ones to pass the 13th, 14th, 15th ammendments and Civil Rights acts

The Republican Party is just a bunch of rich white men.
A visit to Booker Rising and a couple of other sites will settle that quick, fast and in a hurry

Black people who go to the Republican Party are going for the money or they hate themselves.
I'm neither rich or hate myself. My parents let me research and decide for myself. Yes, they're Democrat, STAUNCH Democrat.

If only Colin Powell had turned Democrat, he would have been President or Vice President.
Why does it matter? If you like him, you like him, if you don't, you don't.

She just flat out HATES Clarence Thomas
The reason? He's ugly and he's married to a white woman. Oy vey...

And the kicker....

Bill Clinton was the best president (being the first "black one" and all) EVER.
I'm not touching this one. Not that I don't think he was a good president, just not the best one ever...

I love her, but where did she learn some of this stuff? I'm kinda scared to tell her Frederick Douglass was a libertarian Radical Republican...

Ronald McDonald, the Great Fast Food Satan?

According to WorldNetDaily, the happy, clown mascot along with other animated characters could be seeing themselves on a commercials banned in Europe TV special. Europe, also battling with obesity not only in adults, but in children, sees this option as a means of curtailing the problem. McDonald's, McDonald's...*sigh*...making people fat in not only America, but Europe is well...

Can I have a side of Blame with that Too, Please?
January 23, 2005

A while back ago McDonald's was facing lawsuits brought on by obese patrons of the international franchise. Citing they had become fat thanks to McDonald's, some also suffered from ailments such as diabetes, high blood pressure and other illnesses associated with obesity. They wanted McDonald's to know what it had done to them and that they should pay the price.

I laughed.

I couldn't believe that these people didn't know what personal responsibility and restraint was. Common sense will tell you, "hey if I eat too much of this fast food and don't balance it out with good, healthy food and exercise, I run the risk of becoming obese." But not these people. Common sense to them seemed to rival that of the coffee lady a few years back who actually got rewarded for her lack thereof. How could they honestly stand before the judge and not claim responsibility for their own actions? McDonald's is not your mother, McDonald's will never BE your mother. As long as McDonald's is getting your money, they are all right. Why should they have to care about your health when you don't even care about yours? Nobody's putting a gun to your head everyday saying, "You better go to McDonald's and get the most fattiest, calorie laden meal they have and oh yeah, tell them to Super Size it!"

Speaking of "Super Sizing it" several months back an independent film came out called "Super Size Me." Morgan Spurlock, the director and chief role in the movie decides to eat nothing but McDonald's for an entire month and documents it. Notice I said "decides", as he himself decided to eat at McDonald's for a full month, his girlfriend didn't decide for him, his doctor didn't decide for him. Health problems and *gasp* weight gain ensue as every time he is asked, he agrees to have his meal "Super Sized". Other willing participants in the movie begin to tell Spurlock to abandon ship, the cost, monetary and physically becoming too much. Also within the movie, Spurlock journeys across the country interviewing experts, teachers, lawmakers and legislators on their thoughts of obese America. Some believe it is the fault of those partaking of the food, others believe it is the fault of those making the food. I know I am "misquoting" here, but what ever happened to "my body, my choice"? If you choose to eat fast food and get fat, hey, it was your choice to begin with.

Since the lawsuits, McDonald's (and other fast food chains) has begun to open up its menu to more healthier choices. Salads, milk, applesauce and other options adorn the wall menu above the registers. The only problem is even with all these new, healthy options, it doesn't guarantee people are going to do the right thing and pick them. In the end, it is still left up to personal choice and responsibility.

And my personal choice, is to continue eating at Burger King.

To all the babies I'll never see smile...and the mothers who won't either

I know I'm a little late, but today is the 32nd anniversary of Roe vs. Wade.

32 years of a "right" that never should have happened. And because of a change of heart, "Jane Roe" thinks the same.

A couple months ago, my pastor addressed those women who had had an abortion during service. He didn't give belittling words or words of anger, he gave them words of encouragement and hope. Those who had had abortions began to come up to the alter as he spoke. The number of women, not a small amount to say the least, all had one thing in common. They had regreted their abortion.

I love children. I've wanted children since forever. It had been a dream of mine when I was a little girl in 3rd grade to have sextuplets (with God's help of course ^_^). Every time I see a child it brings a smile to my face. To see a woman who is about to bring life into this world makes me want to be able to do the same one day. To one day hold a child myself, my husband and God helped create will be the greatest reward and honor.

Some women will never be able to do this. Either because of selfishness or misinformation and pressure. They will never be able to see their child, to calm them when they cry, to hold them when they sleep, to laugh when they laugh. All because they had an abortion. Some of these women will be able to one day have another child, others find that they have been sterilized because of their abortion....and others will never wake up from the abortion table. Roe vs. Wade was supposed to give a women a "legal" and "safe" abortion. They got the legal part right.

To all the women who have had an abortion, my heart goes out to you, whether you regret it or not. Though your child is not with you in body, they are with you in spirit. And though they are not in your home safe in your loving arms, they are in Heaven safe in the loving arms of God.

Other blogs on this horrible day in history:
La Shawn Barber
Michelle Malkin

*Sigh*....

For the last couple of days I've been reading Larry Elder's book "Showdown". It's a very interesting book. Within one of the chapters is a sub-chapter about "white guilt". "White guilt" is supposedly what white people of today should be feeling for slavery, even if their families never owned slaves. Whites, according to "white guilt", are the reason black people remain downtrodden, suffer so much racism or are unable to make something of themselves.

Yeah right...

Earlier this week we celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This should be a day of rejoicing, celebrating that we as black people have come a long way from back when he was alive. At a forummate's college however, they had a "racism workshop" or in other words, a "white guilt workshop". The speaker at this workshop did nothing but moan and complain about whites and that they are the reason why black people suffer.

I was going to post something else today. But Larry Elder's book coupled with the remembrance of this nonsense is making my post this.

Whitey is Black
December 23, 2004

For as long as can remember, the way white people had done black people wrong was a hot topic in my house. “White people have done (insert random atrocious deed here),” was more times than not uttered at the dinner table. As it was put, the white man was evil, is evil and will always be evil. They were racist and took pride in keeping black people down then, now and forever. When faced with questions of helping fellow blacks overcome these “apparent” injustices the excuses began to flow. “I’m too old.” or “I can’t do it.” Instead of taking up the torch to help black people better themselves, continuing to be a “victim of the white man” and complain was much easier to do. Some black people blame their bad situations on white people. If they weren’t able to be something in life or do something in life, it’s always white people’s fault. They honestly believe their decisions or attitudes never influenced anything. These same black people in their effort to keep “blaming whitey” do not want to look in the mirror and realize the truth. Whitey is black.

Some black people can not stand it when another black person speaks intelligently. We have to use “slang”, cuss words, demeaning words and fragments when talking to people. “Where them tickets is at?” or “What’s up, my “nigga”?” are two such examples of what comes out of black people’s mouths these days. If a black person does, however, speak without these “necessary” items, they are deemed to be “acting white”. But it’s not whites who sit there and label our intelligent, black “brothers and sisters” this, it’s our own people! To speak intelligently and be black seems to be as common as the NAACP talking good about the Republican party. It’s a sad day when I talk to someone on the phone and they think I’m white, or when a customer compliments me saying I speak “good English” after asking me how long I’ve been living in the US. Let me refresh your memory. Whitey is black.

Successful? Some black people say, “Not if you’re black!” Although under the Reagan presidency black businesses started to flourish, many black owned small businesses today continue to fail in the first year. Not because of the white man, but because of lack of support from the people it’s supposed to be there for, black people. When it comes to children, God forbid a black child actually uses school facilities to learn, graduate at the top of their class and then go to college. “What’s the matter? You think you too good enough for us now?” is sometimes more common than “Congratulations!” Some black people feel if you were born in the ghetto, you should stay in the ghetto. Those who try to make a better lifestyle for themselves and refuse to be a victim should be ridiculed and not praised. It’s funny how some black people are slow to congratulate one another on their successes, but so fast to “tell them so” when they fail. Hey, if they failed in their endeavors, so should the rest of their people. I will say it again. Whitey is black.

Through the years I have come to a realization that is more in your face than an army drill sergeant. Black people are the most racist people. Yes, you read that right. BLACK PEOPLE are the most racist people. And not just to other races, it is also to their own. In my own house, I used to hear the “n” word as much as I heard “honky” and “cracker”. Watching the Larry Elder (yes, a black man) Show shows you the attitudes of some blacks today. White people are not to be trusted, they stink, they lie, they cheat and they could care less about black people. Can’t be trusted, stink, lie, cheat and couldn’t care less about black people seems to be a black thing as well, so your point is? I recently saw one of Larry Elder’s shows where there was a guest, an employer, who wouldn’t hire people with “black” sounding names. The reason? People he encountered with “black” sounding names were “angry” and he didn’t want that anger to infest his smooth running business. “He must have been white!” I hear some black people reading this cry. Nope, this man was one of our own, a black man. Racism still does exist, I won’t deny that, but not as many black people envision it. Also, we need to take the race card out of the deck of life and burn it. Far too many black people use it as an excuse for their bad behavior or to get out of a situation. You didn’t hear Scott Peterson say, “You’re convicting me because I’m white! Or “I did this because I’m white!” Why should black people get away with such garbage? Envision and read my lips. Whitey is black.

Our jails are overrun with black boys and men (and even women) and some blacks are quick to point out it’s because of the white man. When it comes to non-violent offenses and it’s your first time, okay, maybe the judge and jury should be lenient. But when it’s your third, fourth and again, God forbid, your fifth time, you need a harsher sentence because something’s not getting through to you. You are in charge of your own decisions, not whitey. Whitey is not some omnipotent, God like, free will hating force that surrounds you from day to day. If you chose to kill that other homeless man for that plate of peas and corn, guess what, YOU chose to kill. As an article on (real) Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson’s “Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny” site puts it, “it’s crime, not race, that puts men behind bars”. The article goes on to explain how some people when aiming not to put anymore black men in jail, their own black men, found out firsthand that no matter what race you are, if you do the crime, you do the time. Dare I say it again? Whitey is black.

You can deny it and refuse to see it all you want, but the truth remains and will always remain. Black people, stop blaming your ills on other people, especially white people. The scapegoat has grazed, fattened, been slaughtered, cooked and eaten. Like Larry Elder’s father once told him, “Don’t complain about your problems, ask what you can do about them.” Whitey is not keeping you down. YOU are keeping you down. Bitterness and animosity do not build and strengthen a person; they tear them down and weaken them. Staying a “victim of the white man” does nothing for you and the people around you and it certainly doesn’t excuse your behavior. So next time you want to sit and talk about how you’ve been wronged by the “white man”, look at yourself first. That brown skin will start looking pale in enough time. Whitey is black.

Together We Stand?

This week, Thursday to be exact, President Bush is set to have his inauguration speech. With lots of planned activities and lots of security, this day should be a day the nation comes together.

Not this year...

Angry Democrats/Liberals/people who don't like Bush and are STILL sore from the election (if I hear one more argument about voter disenfranchisement I'm going to hurl) want anyone and everyone to boycott anything dealing with Bush. Come on, you may not like him, but you're going about it all childish and wrong.

I didn't vote for Bush (AND I DIDN'T VOTE FOR KERRY), but he is America's president. It's a shame when grown people act like little children because they didn't get their way. The person I voted for didn't win, but you don't see me pouting.

A house divided shall fall....

Feminism's more than just a "cruel hoax"

With all the talk on MensNewsDaily about Ms. Dowd's recent article, people, not just women, must realize Feminism is not just a movement that has birthed so many selfish women seeking self-fulfillment, crying self-entitlement and "wanting it all", but that it is so much more. I am not a fan of modern feminism. My family knows it, my friends know it, my co-workers know it and my boyfriend definitetly knows it. Last year I wrote an article on what makes feminism a no go for me. It's amazing the words that come out of some of the most famous feminists' mouths...

Modern Feminism: The Anti-Marriage, Anti-Christian, Anti-Male, Anti-Child Movement
November 21, 2004

What is Feminism?

According to the American Heritage Dictionary, the term “Feminism”, a noun, is defined as:

“The belief in the social, political and economical equality of the sexes. The movement organized around this belief.”

Now, with a cut and dry definition like that, you’d think everyone would be running to become a feminist, right? Truth be told, they’re not. Some people, both men and women, are even against this movement. Feminism is not as cut and dry as it seems, nor is it as innocent. Many subcategories within Feminism paint it as a complex and even disturbing movement. Some of the more famous subcategories of Feminism are Amazon Feminism, Eco Feminism, Gender Feminism, Pop Feminism and Radical Feminism. There are many kinds of “feminisms” but their definitions all differ from the above dictionary definition and from each other.

Feminism: All about Equality and All Good?

Do Feminists really want equality? Some say they do. But if Feminism is only about “equal rights” or “equality of the sexes”, why only some want it and not all? Also, when presented with an opportunity to be treated equally with men, why do their actions prove otherwise (as in the case of their opposition to the University of California’s Proposition 209)? The truth is, many Feminists oppose equality between the sexes; instead, they want to dominate men because of supposed domination from them over the years. A “Liberated Woman, Boronia”, was featured in the Letter to the Editor section of Melbourne, Australia’s February 9th, 1996 edition of the Herald-Sun saying, “Who cares how men feel or what they do or whether they suffer? They have had over 2,000 years to dominate and made a complete hash of it. Now it is our turn. My only comment to men is, if you don't like it, bad luck - and if you get in my way I'll run you down.”1
Feminism usually boasts that it has brought about good changes in society with regards to women. Now a woman has a choice where there once was none. She now has the choice to vote, to have as many children as she wants, where she can work, etc. But you will never hear out of that same mouth about how Feminism has actually made women even more dependent on men and the government. According to Rachel Alexander’s article, The Problem with Today’s Feminism, “Feminism claims to empower women to become the equals of men. Yet the painful truth is that feminism has gradually metamorphosed into a movement that trains women to gain government imposed advantages over men, while at the same time remaining dependent upon men’s money and the government, all under the false rhetoric of “rights” and “empowerment.””2 But these two things are not the only “evils” of Feminism. In addition, not only is Feminism not about equality, it is anti-marriage, anti-Christian, anti-male and anti-child.

Feminism and Marriage:

“Since marriage constitutes slavery for women, it is clear that the women's movement must concentrate on attacking this institution. Freedom for women cannot be won without the abolition of marriage.” – Shelia Cronan, Radical Feminist leader

Do you know ever since Modern Feminism has been introduced in the United States, marriage rates have been declining and divorce rates are on the rise? In 1970, 68 percent of adults lived as married couples. By 1999, however, that figure was down to 56 percent. Also, there were 2.2 million couples married in 1999, but half of that number, 1.1 million, of married couples divorced that year. 1 million divorces have happened annually since the late 1970’s. In Canada, since the introduction of “no-fault” divorce, the percentage of divorce has gone up 600%.3 More and more wives today, two-thirds of the time, are initiating divorce (71.4% in 1975, 65% in 19884). Because laws work in a woman’s favor (read: bias toward men), the ex-wife is more than likely to get most of their property and custody of, if the relationship produced any, the children. The father, paying child support, will have to fight to see his children because of the mother’s own hostility and the courts seldom enforcing punishment for breach of visitation rights.

Feminism and the Bible:

“By the year 2000 we will, I hope, raise our children to believe in human potential, not God.” – Gloria Steinem, author of The Feminine Mystique

Can you be a Feminist and a Christian? Eco Feminism, one of the many types of Feminism, teaches its followers that anything female (spirit) is a goddess and anything male (matter) is therefore inferior. An old “New Age” philosophy known as Gnosticism, “to know” –ism, ties into this type. Gnosticism teaches that God is an idiot and that a female goddess, Sophia, also known as “Dame Wisdom”, is above Him. “Heavenly” Eve is shown as delivering Adam from ignorance instead of helping to bring sin into the world. Gnosticism also teaches women that self-realization and self-fulfillment are steps to becoming fully divine. Satan is shown as “an instructor” instead of “a tempter” like he is in the Bible. Jesus Christ, the one who died on the cross, is a laughing stock and not the true Savior.5 Anne Lori Gaylor’s quote from the 1988 Humanist reflects her feelings on Christ in regards to Feminism. “Let's forget about the mythical Jesus and look for encouragement, solace, and inspiration from real women. 2,000 years of patriarchal rule under the shadow of the cross ought to be enough to turn women towards the feminist salvation of the world.”

Feminism and Men:
“All men are rapists and that's all they are.” – Marilyn French, author of The Women's Room

Radical Feminists believe that men (patriarchal society) are the cause of their problems. They believe men, throughout all of history, are oppressors and that women are the oppressed. This teaching is the heart of “Women’s Studies” courses across the country. When not being deemed “oppressors” by feminists, men are also labeled as “incompetent” and “worthless”. Gone are the days where a man’s decisions were valued and upheld; now they are ignored, belittled and second-guessed. Back in the days when family was tight and first, family members could go to their husband/father with their problems and his input was appreciated. Men as husbands and fathers were respected by peers, were a hero in the eyes of his children and felt truly needed by his family. Now, in today’s America, men are idiots and are not needed when raising children. Through the years, the media has helped in perpetuating that men are worthless and idiots. Look on TV today and you are bound to find not only shows, but also commercials demeaning to men. Earthlink, AOL, Verizon, other companies and prime time shows have all had their share of portraying men in a negative light. One Eartlink commercial shows a woman, while talking to the viewer, using her Earthlink service to look up remedies as her bumbling husband outside does one stupid thing after another, getting hurt. A Verizon commercial that has been brought to light by Fatherhood activists features a clueless father who is told to go wash the dog by his wife instead of trying to help his daughter with her homework.6 Feminist propaganda has taught women children do not need a father to help raise them, when in actuality they do. Not only is this teaching welcoming unneeded single-parent motherhood, it is welcoming a child with future problems down the road if other role models are not present.

Feminism and Children:

“The most merciful thing a large family can do to one of its infant members is to kill it.” – Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood

Children are the most unfortunate when it comes to Feminism. In the Feminist mind, children are seen as one of the “obstacles” they must overcome in order to achieve self-fulfillment. Since Roe vs. Wade, more than an estimated 36.5 million7 children will never be born, most of whom had no deformities, no illnesses or whose mother was not in any danger when carrying them. For the children already on this earth, instead of being at home in the arms of a loving stay-at-home mother (which Feminist author Simone de Beauvoir says women shouldn’t “be authorized” to do) or father they are in a daycare with other children whose mothers aim for self-fulfillment also (or whose parents are not able to live on one income). Armed with the Feminist belief of “having it all”, many women will wait until later on in life (after they have fulfilled themselves job wise) to have children. These women, who usually are in their 30s, will find it hard to get pregnant. Women who are past the age of 27, the age when fertility starts to drop, will either have to rely on fertility drugs, adoption or give up on having children altogether. The longer a woman waits to have children, the smaller her chances of having a child are. Some women do have children in their 40s, 50s and 60s but they are the exception, not the rule.

References:
1http://www.menweb.org/throop/bash/quotes.html
2http://www.americandaily.com/article/1403
3http://www.marriage-relationships.com/divorce_statistics.html
4http://www.deltabravo.net/custody/divrates.htm
5http://www.biblebb.com/files/MAC/FEMINIST.HTM
6http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,138068,00.html
7http://www.roevwade.org/rvw1.html

It's about time!

From National Review Online:

You, Go, Girlfriends
Essence vs. hip hop.
Myrna Blyth

The editors of Essence, the largest and most successful magazine for African-American women, have started a campaign that deserves both attention and applause. They are protesting the demeaning images of black women in hip-hop lyrics and videos. As editor-in-chief Diane Weathers writes in her letter to readers in the January issue, "Black women now have the tragic distinction of being objectified, stereotyped and dehumanized in so much of Black popular music and lyrics. But it doesn't have to be this way. "
In a feature entitled "Take Back the Music," the editors expand on this gutsy declaration. "In videos we see bikini-clad sisters gyrating around fully clothed grinning brothers like Vegas strippers on meth. When we search for ourselves in music lyrics, mixtapes and DVDs and on the pages of hip-hop magazines, we only seem to find our bare breasts and butts.... The damage of this imbalanced portrayal of Black women is impossible to measure. An entire generation of Black girls are being raised on these narrow images... And the message and images are broadcast globally, they have become the lens through which world now sees us. This cannot continue."
Michaela Angela Davis, Essence's beauty and fashion manager, and a member of the committee charged with overseeing the campaign, told me "In the office we were all grumbling about this. We kept saying it has to change but it isn't going to change on its own. We have to do something about this."
Diane Weathers writes that the editors were impressed by a protest campaign a group called Dads & Daughters waged against Abercrombie & Fitch, when the retailer crossed the line with a hypersexual advertising campaign aimed at white suburban teenagers. She also says they were inspired by the young women at Spelman College who protested a visit from the rapper Nelly, causing him to cancel an appearance.
When I told Michaela that Essence was to be commended for expressing a very appropriate — and conservative — point of view, she didn't want to agree. "I don't think it is a conservative point of view. We are not saying it is all wrong. Personally I like a lot of the music. I started my career at Vibe. I have been a stylist for some music videos. The problem is it's the only thing we have to choose from, the only images we see of Black women. We don't want to shut it down but we do want to bring more balance to the way Black women are described and depicted.'
In the feature, a variety of black women and men, some involved in the music industry, share their experiences and opinions. Moya Bailey, a Spelman senior who was part of the anti-Nelly protest, notes "I know people who have been on exchange programs to another country, say South Africa or Brazil, and they've had people approach them...thinking they were prostitutes...just because of the images they have of American Black women."
Others complain that it is the fault of the record companies. Writes Fatima Robinson, a video director, "I have problems all the time getting work because I refuse to write the treatments that record companies want — hot girls, cars, palm trees and so on." While some like Debra Lee, the president of BET Holdings tries to put the blame on the public. "If more people are asking for it, and like it...who's to say it's wrong? If artists put out videos like this and people don't like it, they should vote at the record store." Rapper Nelly, who claims he's an "artist" and that "people don't respect what [rappers] do as art, " simply wants to blame the girls, of course. "Women are in these videos by choice," he whines.
But my favorite dodge is offered by Russell Simmons, the self-promoting hip-hop mogul, who was, amazingly, included along with Thomas Edison in Sir Harry Evans, new book about innovators, They Made America. Simmons was also featured on the first in a series of PBS documentaries based on the book.
Simmons declares: "Although these records and videos are offensive, young girls can learn a lot about the mind-set of the young guys they're going to school with. Now that the truth is out there more, young girls can learn how to deal with guys."
I get it. Those videos that show scantily clad young girls on leashes being pulled along by pimps are educational! And Russell doesn't even seem to notice that with his comment, he is insulting young black men as well as black women.
Michaela says the campaign will continue for a year, with a meeting planned at Spelman College in February. There is also a study in the works on how young girls who watch hours of music videos are affected, as well as a report on the economics of the music business. "We have lots of anecdotal information, now we want more data to support the way we all feel."
Michaela who is the mother of a 14-year-old daughter is especially interested in this important, admirable campaign. "On our music committee there are young women, mothers, even a grandmother. The editors at Essence are just glad we are here in this place and able to have this conversation. It is one we know we need to have. We are all so committed. "
By the way, I just had to ask Michaela Angela Davis if she was, as I assumed, named after black-power activist Angela Davis. She laughed, "I'm 40 years old. Angela Davis wasn't famous when I was born. My mother studied in Italy. I was named for Michelangelo!"

Finally! But I'm wondering why it took this long. I stopped listening to rap back in the early 90's right before the ushering in of "gansta rap". Rap has just become a medium for bad stereotypes and bad behavior. Yeah, the rappers should be held accountable, but those women in the videos didn't exactly have a gun pointed to their heads either.

Introductions...

I don’t have a Ph.D. or a M.D. Neither do I have a G.E.D, but I do have a B.A. not full of B.S. I’m no psychiatrist or psychologist, just a writer and graphic artist. Welcome to "Chocolate Covered Banana", my first blog! My name is Jade. Enjoy your stay. This place houses some of my thoughts turned words. Some writings are thoughts featured on other sites, while others head straight to here. Here I talk about things that are on my mind or on my heart.

A little bit about myself: I am a twenty-two year old, black female. I am my mommy's little "radical". By that, I mean I am something that many like myself are not. I'm black, but my voter registration card will never say Democrat, I'm female, but you'll never catch me dead reading Ms. Magazine. In other areas, my music of choice is not rap, but soft rock 80's (I love you, Phil Collins!) and I don't have any "babies daddies", let alone babies. "Stereo" does not describe my scenario. The people listed to my page's right are my role models and remind me I am not alone in the many things I believe and think. I like the wittiness of Ann Coulter, the charm of Ben Chapiro, the wisdom of Bill Cosby and Mychal Massie, the anti-feminist spirit of Carey Roberts and Phyllis Schlafly, the determination of D. West, the common sense of Dr. Laura, the in your faceness of the "Gonzman", the intellect of La Shawn Barber, the take charge attitude of Larry Elder, the sense of humor of Niger Innis, the uniqueness of Michelle Malkin, the funny sarcasm of Mike Adams, the drive (to help others) of Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson and Star Parker, the spirituality of T.D. Jakes and the no-nonsense attitude of Walter E. Williams.

Well, like I said before, enjoy your stay. And when you've had enough of my site, you may want to visit the other sites listed in my links section. They are quite...interesting...
